bioaccumulation and somatic growth condition of freshwater fish’
(3 years funding)

Interuniversity Research Centre of the University of Vienna, University of Natural Resources and
Applied Life Sciences, and Danube University Krems, Austria. We are seeking a candidate with a

É aquatic food web ecology,
É experimental field work experience, and
É knowledge in aquatic ecotoxicology is an asset.
The successful candidate will be expected to investigate trophic dynamics in natural lakes and
aquaculture ponds, and to develop predictive tools how diet composition affects nutrient retention,
contaminant bioaccumulation and overall somatic growth condition of freshwater fish, with
emphasis on common carp (Cyprinus carpio). Candidates should also possess a high degree of
motivation and creativity, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated
ability to work in a team environment and interact with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists.
LIPTOX, a research group at the Interuniversity Research Centre WasserCluster
